Cranfield invites both existing and aspiring non-executive directors to join us to hear two experienced non-executives share their experience and insights on how to manage boards in crisis. This is also an opportunity to meet other professionals interested in learning more about the role of non-executive directors.
Being a non-executive board member can be challenging at the best of times when everything is functioning in ’business as usual’ mode. But what happens when the organisation – or the board – hits a crisis? How do you respond?
As a NED your role is not operational, and keeping this distinction and distance can be one of the immediate challenges. Instead of getting ‘hands on’, using your influencing and coaching skills effectively can bring perspective and stability to a board in crisis. In a worst-case scenario, what does it feel like to be a NED where your personal assets, and perhaps your reputation, are at stake? How do you stay resilient during the most pressurised of times?
Our panel of experts will share their experience of leading boards through uncertain times with resilience and reputational integrity.
